JAN ŽĎÁNSKÝ – violoncello

J.Ž. studied at the Pardubice Conservatoire with Josef Krečmer and at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague with Miroslav Petráš. He took part at numerous masterclasses, e.g. with Victorie Yagling (Helsinki), F.Bartholomeye (Wien) and M.Zeuthena (Copenhagen). Jan won the first prize at the National Conservatoires' Competition in 1999, second prize at Frankfurt am Main (contemporary chamber music competition), prizes at Semmering as well as Brno Janáček Competition (prize for the best performance of a piece by Leoš Janáček). He regularly performs as a soloist with the Pardubice Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, Capella Pallatina Mannheim and Tutti Bordeaux
